<div class="h1">Titel</div> <div class="pre">CJS2_155b Demonstrator Cases to Support Renewable Energy Transition Across the Mediterranean</div> <div class="h1">Beschreibung</div> <div class="pre">This ITT was for “Demonstrator Case” contracts which, based on regional policy and linked energy market insight, are meant to develop and demonstrate solutions to empower users throughout the Mediterranean region to stimulate and facilitate the integration of CAMS and/or C3S data into existing or new solutions to enhance development of renewable energies in the region. The concrete objectives of three awarded contracts under this ITT are as follows: - Contract CJS2_155b_NOA-A will develop climate services for the energy sector related to solar energy. The services will be focused on the seasonal (weeks to months) and longterm (over the next 30 years) time scales of energy production and will be specially tailored for two selected cases in Eastern (Greece) and Southern Mediterranean (Morocco). When looking at the forecasting horizon concerning solar energy, most of the predictions are focused on the short term (up to few days), creating a gap regarding the seasonal and the long-term information. In the frame of this Contract, data provided by the Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S) and the Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service (CAMS) will be used and the generated customised services will be a benchmark to support decisions and better management in the solar energy sector in the region. - Contract CJS2_155b_EVF aims to conduct a demonstration of solutions that clearly exhibit the added value of CAMS and C3S outputs in renewable energy projects in the Mediterranean Region. It proposes a demonstration that focusses on exploiting CAMS and C3S outputs in support of energy management and production planning optimisation for the Benban Solar Park in Egypt. The demonstration will (i) provide an unmatched, operational service supporting the work of key stakeholders with whom we have already forged a close working relationship, namely the Benban Solar Developers Association (BDSA) and the New and Renewable Energy Authority (NREA) and (ii) lay the path forward for a scalable approach and wider uptake of the solution across the Mediterranean Region. - Contract CJS2_155b_NOA-B encompasses The proposed E-DREAM (Energy Droughts and Resource Energy Assessment in the Mediterranean) Demonstration Case is designed to assist stakeholders in the renewable energy sector, particularly in solar and wind, across the Mediterranean region. It offers a comprehensive solution for optimal site selection and life cycle analysis, facilitating more informed and sustainable decision-making. Historical data will be utilised to evaluate resource potential, identifying optimal sites for new solar and wind installations, as well as informing grid expansion planning. The sustainability of potential future installations will be evaluated by analysing the occurrence of energy droughts in wind, solar, and combined sources, as well as extreme events such as high winds and temperatures and desert dust storms.</div> <div class="h1">Interne Kennung</div> <div class="pre">CJS2_155b</div>
